| Summary |
Written in the traditional style of ancient prose, the Lebor Clann Glas (Book of the Green Race) is the first text in Irish history that spans the period 8800 BCE to 1160 CE. It is the only known text of historical merit that provides context for the emergence of the Holly Kings, the druids and the vitally important place in history that Ireland played throughout the ages particularly with religion. |
| Context |
The history of Ireland that we know today is based on the trust of one handful of surviving manuscripts, all of which contain dubious historical and genealogical information. While these texts are over 1,000 years old in some cases and provide a range of interesting mythical stories, they fail to largely address the true context of pre-christian Ireland with the rest of the world. Lebor Clann Glas is the first and only historic work that addresses that failing.
